An introduction to the book, the Albanian Alphabet offers an overall picture of the structural peculiarities of the language, including the phonetics, morphology, and syntax, and invites the students to take a deeper insight into it.
The book consists of 15 practical units discussing topical subjects of everyday life that facilitate communication in Albanian. Each unit comprises four parts. Through the dialogues the first part, Spoken Abanian, is focussed on the development of satisfactory communicating skills. Morphology and syntax, as important aspects of the linguistic skills, are addressed in the Grammar space contained in each unit The selected grammatical material introduces essential knowledge that may be enriched and expanded according to particular requirements. A series of oral and written exercises, contained in the fourth part, Exercises, allows check on and application of the knowledge obtained in the preceding units, as well.
The Additional Vocabulary incorporated into the book provides a list of terms and expressions specific for the topics taken up for discussion. Last but not least, the Tables of Declension and Conjugation provide a more detailed and focussed outline of the already mentioned grammatical matters.
Providing an ever richer background of the language, this course enables readers to handle everyday life situations effectively. The likelihood surrounding the everyday situations, both in the dialogues and exercises, prepares them for actual communication.
