The book consists of 14 lessons and offers material conversational nature of topics studied in the first year of university.

Each lesson includes a thematic text, several dialogues recommended lexical material with commentary, exercises to secure the necessary vocabulary and common conversational structure, topics for conversation and debate. All lessons are combined storyline and tell us about the student from England studying Russian as a foreign language and come to training in St. Petersburg State University.

Author grants Jane Povey is a native English speaker and has extensive experience of teaching at the Faculty of Philology, St. Petersburg State University, which is reflected in the material edition and enhances its linguistic and methodological value.
