Going International: English for Tourism (SB+WB+Audio)

“Going International” is a topic-centered upper-intermediate course designed for individuals training for or working in the tourism sector. The course introduces, reviews, and expands upon essential language and communication skills needed to operate effectively in this dynamic international industry. Each of the twelve units focuses on a core area, such as travel agency, tour operation, transportation, promotion and marketing, guiding, and future trends in tourism.

The Student’s Book presents language and skills through a series of reading and listening tasks sourced from authentic materials. These tasks progress into a variety of practical output exercises, allowing students to strengthen their skills via real-world scenarios related to their field. The language syllabus emphasizes essential grammar and functional language, with a strong focus on vocabulary building. Each unit includes at least one language focus section, complemented by pronunciation and vocabulary exercises. This Workbook extends the language content in the Student’s Book, providing additional exercises and activities for classroom use or independent study.

In addition to the Workbook, the course package includes a Student’s Book, an audio cassette, and a Teacher’s Resource Book. The Teacher’s Resource Book provides detailed teaching notes, answer keys, ideas for adapting and expanding activities, and extra photocopiable materials for use in class.
