“Read and Understand” is a series of four workbooks aimed at secondary or intermediate students looking to boost their reading comprehension skills. The two lower-level books feature 15 reading texts each, focusing on social and contemporary issues relevant to teenagers. The two upper-level books contain 20 reading passages on various engaging topics, written in diverse text formats.

Each unit begins with three or four Pre-Reading Questions designed to engage students with the topics in the text. These questions foster discussions in pairs or small groups, helping students use their prior knowledge and experiences to make predictions and understand the material better.

The Vocabulary Study section simplifies finding the meanings of highlighted words and phrases in the reading passages.

Each workbook includes a range of exercises, combining individual written tasks and group oral discussions. Workbooks 1 and 2 feature exercises such as:

• Vocabulary Building: Key for enhancing reading skills.
• Comprehension Questions: Offered in True/False, multiple-choice, and open-ended formats to evaluate students’ grasp of the passages.
